The Truth About Complications – Why Every Injector Must Be Prepared
Let’s be honest — complications are the one part of aesthetics no one wants to talk about. But avoiding the conversation doesn’t make them less real. If anything, silence makes them more dangerous.
The truth is, even the most skilled, experienced injector will eventually deal with a complication. The real question is: Will you know what to do?
Complications Are Inevitable
In aesthetics, complications aren’t a matter of if — they’re a matter of when. You may encounter:
- Lumps or migration
- Swelling or bruising
- Vascular occlusion
- Delayed onset swelling
- Infection or biofilm
- Nerve involvement
- Dissatisfaction or asymmetry
The most serious risks, such as blindness or anaphylaxis, are rare — but they do happen. And in those moments, you must be calm, clinical, and confident.
Why Aren’t More People Prepared?
Unfortunately, many courses either don’t include thorough complications training or treat it as an afterthought. We’ve seen countless injectors attend refresher days with us saying they were never taught how to:
- Use hyaluronidase
- Respond to an occlusion
- Handle an upset client
- Distinguish a bruise from vascular compromise
That’s not acceptable.
At Our Academy, Safety Is Not Optional
We take a proactive approach. Every injectables course includes:
- Complications recognition
- Emergency protocols
- Hyaluronidase mixing and injection
- Anaphylaxis response
- A full protocol pack
- Legal and insurance guidance
We also support our students after training. If you ever suspect a complication, our team is just a message away.
Confidence isn’t about never having problems. It’s about knowing how to fix them — quickly, safely, and ethically.
